SQF Professional Update (1/2 day program) $150 pre-registration / $250 onsite registration

Some of the most commonly misunderstood concepts in the SQF Program are validation, verification and risk assessments; concepts that are essential for any effective any food safety system. In this workshop, you will be provided a clearer understanding of these terms and how to apply them to the SQF Program. One of SQF’s all-star trainers will take their field knowledge and apply it to the course while offering practical tools and real world examples that can easily be applied to a variety of food and beverage and packaging manufacturing companies.  This workshop was sold out at last year’s conference so register early.

Recall Management – How To Prevent and Manage Recalls $250 pre-registration / $350 onsite

Trainer: Gary Smith, Director, Food Safety Systems, Eurofins

In 2014, there were over 2,000 reported food recalls. While it’s something that no supplier wants to have, the time to prepare for a recall isn’t during the event and the best way to manage a recall is to prevent one from occurring. In this workshop participants will be provided information on recall management principles including:

  • How to prepare a recall plan, or enhance their current plan;
  • How to respond to a recall – including establishing effective communication plans;
  • How to recover from the crisis and the steps to get the operation up and running and preventing the incident from reoccurring.

Participants will also learn what they can do to reevaluate their current food safety programs to prevent recalls from happening in the first place. Best practices for implementing internal audit programs, reviewing HACCP plans, and reviewing approved supplier program will be shared.

This is a new workshop  being offered this year based on requests from SQF stakeholders and is expected to sell out quickly.

Safe Food/Safe Feed Certification: Comprehensive Standards of Excellence to Maximize Feed and Food Safety – $250 pre-registration / $350 onsite

The Advanced SQF Practitioner course is an activity-based course designed for the current SQF practitioner who is seeking further education on how to improve and maintain their company’s SQF System. SQF 高级执业者课程提供了必要的工具,以完善和推进工厂内的食品安全体系并管理 SQF 计划的日常维护。

To ensure an optimal learning experience and fully benefit from this course, it is recommended that participants meet the following pre-requisites prior to attending the course:

Quality Systems Management – $250 pre-registration / $350 onsite

The SQF Quality Systems Course explains how to go beyond simply managing the quality of your product and focus instead on the larger goal of creating a culture of quality within the business.

The course will take the learner along the continuum from understanding product quality parameters to measuring and controlling product quality using the HACCP method, improving product quality using the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle to the application of quality management principles to improve overall business results.

To benefit from this training course, it is recommended that candidates have successfully completed a HACCP training course that meets the definition found in the SQF Code and either “Implementing SQF Systems” or SQF auditor training.

The learning outcomes for this one-day course include:

  • An understanding of the continuum between product quality and quality management principles;
  • Explain the product quality parameters within a food industry sector or facility;
  • Apply the HACCP method to monitor and control quality parameters;
  • Understand and apply the ‘cost of quality’ model within a facility;
